On the C-85 max RPM book is 2575 . My recent Ercoupe had almost identical performance as yours . . .
2200 RPM static
McCauley 7150 prop
Max cruise I got was 2450 RPM full throttle , I have been told the prop pitch dictates max RPM
engine 150 SMOH
I cruised @ 2200 RPM 5gph (I have mixture control cable) 110 MPH

I think you’d really like a 48. It doesn’t slow you that much, and you will notice an increase in performance.

				Larry
Yes it as an illegal prop. Previous owner forwarded funds, so bought the new McCauly I might have it re-pitched this winter to a 48 in SEA
Thank you for your input

Wow, a 54 is way beyond anything I’ve seen. Probably not legal. You might have a mechanic check out your static speed. I don’t think you’re far off, if you’re off at all.
