Replied by Larry Snyder on topic Gross weight

The airplane with heavier gross weight started out at 1260 pounds. There is an STC from Alpha Aviation that increases gross weight to the LSA legal maximum, 1320.
I’ve flown with both C-75 and C-85 engines and obviously the 85 is superior. But other things, like total time, time since major overhaul, and other gestures will make a difference, too.

Considering purchasing one of these:  1946 ERcoupe C models:  one has a C-85 engine the other C-75.  Both listed as LSA.  S/N's 3034 and 3074 respectively.  S/N 3074 with a C-75 engine Gross WT is 1260 lbs; the other with the C-85 engine Gross WT 1320 lbs.  Why are these two ERcoupes GW's 60 lbs different when they were "born" so close together??
