I had the same problem with my plane. I changed all engine mount rubber bushings (8 pieces from Skyport), and now I have almost 1/2" clearance.

I have a clearance issue between the back plate and nose bowl.
Cannot shave back of plate off any.

I have to ask. Why replace the nice Ercoupe spinner with a skullcap?

I have a Univair Spinner Assembly on my plane currently. I have a SKULL CAP I want to install in place of it.
The prop has six counterbores where spacers go to align the back spinner plate. My question...do these spacers need to be installed when I replace this spinner with the SKULL CAP or does the prop mount up flush and tight?
Thanks for any help.
