				Ours has rudder pedals, with just a tad right rudder I dont even have to touch the yoke once i get it trimmed out and on the right airspeed and power setting.

				You are correct. My 415-C starts drifting immediately. Trim is useless.

				I’ve only flown two Ercoupe in the past 45 years. The first when I was a novice instructor building hours in the mid 70’s and didn’t know much, and now my very own that I’ve had for two months and which just gets better every day that I get to go out to the hangar and baby it a little more.  But I’m starting to wonder about lateral stability.
This past weekend I read an article about a guy that fell asleep flying his ‘coupe while commuting from work and woke up some 200 miles later. That seems a bit far fetched. There is no way my ‘coupe would fly itself straight for more than a minute, let alone stay upright. As easy as it is to fly it will dip a wing with a small wind gust and be very happy to stay right there in the bank or keep rolling if it feels like it. I have to be there at the yoke constantly making the small corrections to keep it going the right direction. I’m reasonably familiar with light aircraft flight characteristics seeing as I have resumed the roll of a CFI and to be honest they pretty much all need minding of some sort, but my ‘coupe needs considerably more than the high wing craft that I teach in.
Is this normal behavior for a otherwise well mannered Ercoupe?
