Apparently there isn’t a certified replacement for the heat exchange springs…..

Being cheap, I used a screen door spring from Home Depot.

I repaired the heat muff. It had a good sized hole. We used a similarly sized aluminum and rolled it to match the curve of the heat muff and riveted it on as patch.
The welder did a great job of TIG’ing the exhaust back together.
Now I am trying to source a pair of the springs that transfer the heat.
The springs kept the bottom half of the exhaust from departing the aircraft, but they are all stretched to hell and back.
Vernon Gregory @skyport said they weren’t available. He said he might be able to give me some measurements from a broken one, so I can try and find something similar.
Online I found a source that can custom make extension springs. Unless someone has a pair they would be willing to sell. I need the wire diameter, internal, external, dimensions, compressed and extended measurements of an Alon exhaust spring.

There is a service bulletin and service kit to add a support to the exhaust.
