				So it will always transmit the old transponder code as well as the ADS-B signal.

				Sure. uAvionix have a receiver on their circuit board that snoops the transmissions of your 1960's transponder and decodes that information. Then they format an ADS-B packet and send that out.

				For someone who has talked to uAvionix about their offering, is there a layman explanation how my 1960's transponder, that sends out a squawk on a frequency in the electromagnetic spectrum, gets a GPS position overlayed on top of that frequency when it cannot possibly be "talking" to the thing on the wingtip (since the 1960's transponder is not Bluetooth enabled)?
