× In 2026, the EAA is spotlighting the "Class of 1946" postwar boom aircraft. Since so many of our Ercoupes were manufactured in 1946 this is a natural fit for the club.

Yes, we had a non-incident emergency landing due to a failed fuel pump. Fortunately Emmett noticed it in time and made an uneventful (if unscheduled) landing.

I brought the relay flag home with me and now I'm trying to work out a plan to get it to Josef in Texas. I may need to fly out there ASAP since the other pilot along the way also had to drop out due to unexpected work complications.

I'll post when we have a plan!

Any updates? I saw there was a mechanical issue with one of the planned handoffs.

GEORGIA
KBQK, Brunswick

This is an airport and FBO that I can't recommend highly enough. Brunswick Golden Isles Airport is the biggest, swankiest *uncontrolled* airport I've ever seen. There are big DHL jets stationed there, and a big Gulfstream (repair? factory?) facility. The terminal has a jetway and is staffed 24 hours.

Manning Aviation is run by a real-deal GA crew. Separate from the terminal, they have a beautiful FBO building that caters to a lot of bizjet traffic. Despite that, there are no ramp fees, overnight fees, or overpriced gas for piston singles.

I arrived in Hilton Head, It turns out that there was some huge golf event the next day so it the airspace an ramp were packed with bizjets.

Despite that, about five Signature staff rushed over because they'd never seen an Ercoupe before. Signature isn't for cheapskates but now I get why they're successful.
